- Yönetici
Hoş geldiniz Cem Bey. Özgeçmişinizi inceledim. Bize biraz kendinizden bahseder misiniz?
Welcome, Mr. Cem. I've looked over your résumé. Could you tell us a little about yourself?
- Cem
Hoş bulduk. Tabii. Marmara Üniversitesi Bilgisayar Mühendisliği bölümünden mezun oldum. Son beş yıldır bir yazılım şirketinde proje yöneticisi olarak çalışıyorum.
Thank you. Of course. I graduated in computer engineering from Marmara University. For the last five years I've been working as a project manager at a software company.
- Yönetici
Peki, neden şu anki işinizden ayrılmak istiyorsunuz?
And why do you want to leave your current job?
- Cem
Kendimi daha fazla geliştirebileceğim ve yeni sorumluluklar alabileceğim bir pozisyon arıyorum. Şirketinizin sektördeki vizyonu beni çok etkiledi.
I'm looking for a position where I can develop further and take on new responsibilities. Your company's vision in the industry really impressed me.
- Yönetici
Güçlü ve zayıf yönleriniz nelerdir?
What are your strengths and weaknesses?
- Cem
En güçlü yönüm problem çözme yeteneğimdir. Zayıf yönüme gelince, bazen fazla detaycı olabiliyorum. Ancak bunun işin kalitesini artırdığını düşünüyorum.
My greatest strength is my problem-solving ability. As for my weakness, I can sometimes be too detail-oriented. But I think it improves the quality of the work.
- Yönetici
Anlıyorum. Bizim soracaklarımız bu kadar. Sizin bize sormak istediğiniz bir şey var mı?
I see. That's all from our side. Is there anything you'd like to ask us?
- Cem
Evet. Ekip kaç kişiden oluşuyor ve ilk aylarda benden neler bekliyorsunuz?
Yes. How many people are on the team, and what would you expect from me in the first few months?
- Yönetici
Ekibimiz sekiz kişi. İlk üç ayda mevcut projeleri tanımanızı ve ekiple uyum sağlamanızı bekliyoruz.
Our team has eight people. In the first three months we'd expect you to get to know the current projects and settle in with the team.
- Cem
Anladım, teşekkür ederim. Sizden haber bekliyorum.
I see, thank you. I look forward to hearing from you.

Grammar & Culture Notes
Culture
Formal register in interviews
Both speakers use siz and the title Bey (Cem Bey). In a Turkish job interview, stay formal unless the interviewer clearly invites you to relax — and use full polite forms like bahseder misiniz? and düşünüyorum.
Grammar
Participles: -(y)AcAk and -DIK
Geliştirebileceğim … bir pozisyon = 'a position where I will be able to develop'; soracaklarımız = 'the things we will ask'; sormak istediğiniz bir şey = 'something you want to ask'. These relative-clause forms are central at B1.
Grammar
For the last five years: -DIr
Son beş yıldır … çalışıyorum — Turkish uses the present continuous with -dır/-dir where English uses the present perfect continuous ('I have been working for five years').
