Conversation Factory

50 real-life Turkish dialogues from A1 to C1, each with an English translation, key vocabulary, grammar and culture notes, and comprehension questions.

Dialogues are one of the fastest ways to pick up Turkish as it is actually spoken. Each conversation below is short enough to study in one sitting and is written for a specific CEFR level, so you meet new grammar only when you are ready for it. Start with your level, read the summary, and then work through the dialogue line by line.

A simple routine works well: first read the Turkish aloud and try to understand it on your own. Next, check the English translation and the vocabulary table, and read the notes on the grammar and culture behind the phrases. Then hide the translation and read the dialogue again, ideally playing each role out loud. Finish with the comprehension questions, and come back a few days later to see how much you remember. If a grammar point is new, follow the links to our grammar lessons and graded readings.
