  1. Proje Yöneticisi

Arkadaşlar, proje takviminde bir gecikme olduğunu görüyorum. Bunun nedeni hakkında bilgi alabilir miyim?

Everyone, I see there's a delay in the project schedule. Can someone tell me what's behind it?

On the technical side, we ran into an unexpected software compatibility issue. Fixing it took longer than we estimated.

This delay is going to affect the start date of our marketing campaign too. We may not make the launch date we set.

I understand. By when can the engineering team solve this? Can you give us a firm date?

If we work overtime, we'll have it solved by Friday at the latest.

If Friday is definite, we can push the campaign back a week. But we'd already announced it to the press, so we'll need to let them know too.

  7. Proje Yöneticisi

Peki.

All right. In that case, marketing should update its plans for a one-week delay. During this period it's essential that everyone stays in touch to keep risks to a minimum. Let's have a short status meeting on Thursday.

  8. Mühendis

Tamam, perşembe sabahı son durumu paylaşırım.

Okay, I'll share an update on Thursday morning.

Grammar & Culture Notes

  • Grammar

    Future perfect: -mIş oluruz

Sorunu çözmüş oluruz = 'we will have solved the problem'. -mış ol- plus the aorist or future gives a future-perfect meaning — very useful for deadlines.

  • Grammar

    Third-person commands: güncellesin

Pazarlama ekibi … güncellesin = 'the marketing team should update…'. The third-person imperative -sın/-sin is how managers give instructions about other people.

  • Culture

    Business Turkish

Office Turkish mixes formal Turkish with loanwords such as lansman (launch), revize etmek (to revise) and proje. Opening a team meeting with Arkadaşlar ('friends, everyone') is completely normal, even for a manager.
